Creating data files is a simple process. All you need to do
is create a database (see previous menu) and then use this screen
to add files (tickers/symbols) to that database. You should decide
which data format you want to use: N-Squared or CompuTrac.
There are some IMPORTANT things to keep in mind when creating
files. First, which data service are you going to be using; and
second, are you going to download stocks with or without the OPEN
price.
Warner does not have stock data with OPEN price, therefore the
stock files must be created using option <1>.
Dial Data has OPEN price so you can use either option <1> or
option <4>. Strongly recommend option <4> so you will get the OPEN.
Commodity data can be obtained from either Warner or Dial Data.
Be sure to check the ticker/symbol because some are different. With
Dial Data, the commodity file name is made up of the one or two letter
commodity symbol, followed by the contract month and year (MMYY), and
then the price factor. If it is a negative price factor,
be sure to include the minus sign, e.g. TR0992-5 for Sep T-Bonds.
